PRESENTATION TO BOY SCOUT BENJAMIN MILLER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec presented Boy Scottt Benjamin Miller of Troop 204 a plaque of recognition for the <br />medal of merit he received for pulling his father out of the water and saving his life. <br /> <br />UPDATE FROM JOINT LAW ENFoRcEMENT COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />Police Chief Way presented a brief update on the Joint Law Enforcement Council meeting. He <br />explained elections were held and all the positions were filled. A bill was introduced this <br />legislative session to require any range iowned bY a city to be open to the public at certain times. <br />The association came out against that because they would have to maintain and staff that. He <br />reported the detox facility in Anoka County will :be closing effective in March, and people <br />needing detox will need to be brought to Hastings or Plymouth. They are trying to look into <br />other things, and St. Cloud migh[be a better option. The Council will be updated on this. He <br />reported there was also discussionl of the new 800-megahertz system, and the Council will be <br />kept updated on this as well. <br /> <br />Counci hnember Pearson stated the City of Ramsey can be extremely proud of their Police and <br />Fire Chiefs. He has heard some reports about the explosion disaster in the City, and they did an <br />outstanding job. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Nolle. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman added Case N°~ 19 to the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec indicated Case No. 9 will bemoved up in the agenda to Case A. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig noted Case Nos. 3/1. and 3/2 should be handled with Case No. 9, as they <br />consider the same course of actiom <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson announced the public hearing for the RTC improvements <br />has been rescheduled for February 22, 2005; <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded bY Councilmember Olson, to approve the agenda as <br />amended. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
