I~EQUESTiFOR FIN~!SITE PLAN REVIEW <br /> FOR ~SEYiM~ICIPAL CENTER <br /> CASE'OF CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> By: PatriCk Trudg6on, AICp, COmmunity Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey is prop0,sing to .deveI°p. a 68359 square foot Municipal 'Center <br />consisting of a two story City ~all and qne,story Police Station. The Ramsey Municipal <br />Center is proposed to be locatoc! in the ~seyTown Center development at the comer of <br />Sunwood Drive and Sapphire St: The preliminary .site plan for the Municipal Center was <br />approved by the City Council .on December 14, 2005 <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed f°r'YoUr information: <br /> <br /> a) Site location map <br /> b) Final Site plan <br /> c) City Staff Review Letter dated February 18, 2005 <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />Site Plans do not require a public hearing therefore no notice was sent out. <br />Observations: <br /> <br />As previously mentioned, the sitelplani is prOposi.ng to develop a 68,359 square foot <br />Municipal Center consisting of a tWo stOry: City Hail and one-story PoliCe Station. The <br />Municipal Center is designed for an ad~litionai story on each part of the building for an <br />additional 20,394 square feet. The CitY parking Ramp will be located directly to the west <br />of the Ramsey MuniCipal Center. <br /> <br />The Ramsey Municipal Center Will provide for offices for City employees, Council <br />Chambers to condUCt public'meetings., and !Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to <br />facilitate emergency management OperationS and other training, and a Police Station with <br />a detention center. The CitY iHall POrtion .of the Ramsey Municipal Center will be two <br />stories, with the possibility of adding a third floor. The Police Station portion will be one <br />story initially, with the potential to. add a second level. The Ramsey Municipal Center <br />will have a main entrance on :SunWOodDriv~ for pedestrians. Additional entrances will <br />be located in the rear of the bUilding. !parking Will be provided, by a combination of a <br />small surface parking lot and parking ramp. <br /> <br />The Ramsey Municipal CenLer .received a variance to setbacks on January_ 6, 2005 to <br />allow for the building to be getbaCk farther than the TC-1 Zoning District allows. The <br />greater setback was reviewed bY the'. TOwn Center Technical Advisory Committee <br />(TCTAC) and the City Council': and found to be acceptable. <br /> <br />The final site plan has attempted to iaddr~ss the comments brought forward by the <br />TCTAC. Please refer to the Staff Review Lettei: for more detailed information. <br /> <br /> <br />
