CC CASE # <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE PREPARATION OF:EAW FOR OAKWOOD LAND DEVELOPMENT <br /> , PROJECTS <br /> BY: LeOnard Lint°n, Civil Engineer II <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Oakwood Land Development is proposing:to develop two large parcels into single family homes. <br />The proposed developments are laame, d BrOokfield Addition and Sweet Bay Ridge. An area map is <br />attached showing both projects. The projects are located in the north central area of the City, Sweet <br />Bay Ridge is the former St. AnthOny Gun Club site and Brookfield Addition is farther north. Trott <br />Brook lbrms the northern boundary of Bro6kfield Addition, The developer has petitioned for <br />extending municipal sewer and waterto bqth developments. The sewer and water extension will <br />require a comprehensive plan amendment which is progressing on a separate track. Each <br />development will require an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) as prescribed by the <br />rules of the Minnesota Environmental Quaiity Board. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />The City is the Local unit of Government (LGU) responsible for preparing the EAW. A request for <br />proposal was sent to B°lton & Menk, Inc. for preparation of an EAW for each project. Bolton & <br />Menk, Inc. has submitted a proposal to perform both studies for a fee not to exceed $25,000. The <br />developer will be required to pay for the studieS; however the City must order the studies. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the proposal from Botton & Menk, Inc. be accepted for preparation of EAWs for <br />Brookfield Addition and Sweet Bay Ridge at a not to exceed cost of $25,000.
