Councilmember Cook introduced the followin§resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESO.LUTION//04-10-322 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE APPROVAL OF ALPINE PARK'S DISCOVERY <br />GARDEN <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey Ci~ty CounCil recOgnizes the importance of Parks, Open Space, and <br />Recreation to the quality of life for Ramsey residents; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Alpine park is intended to serve these needs as both a Community Park and <br />as a neighborhood resource; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Community and NeighbOrhood Parks require areas for play and physical <br />development of children; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Alpine Park's DiscoVery Garden will meet these needs, and be unique <br />recreational and educational resource for the entire community. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes up to one hundred and seventeen thousand and <br />eight dollars ($117,008)~ are hereby allocated from the Park Trust Fund to provide <br />landscape and recreational improvements known as the Alpine Park Discovery Garden. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Zimmerman and upon vote being taken thereonl the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />llone <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />DorIc <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-10-322 <br /> Pagell of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
