Meeting Date: 02/12/2019 By: Chris Anderson, Community Development Information Title Adopt Resolution #19-050 Approving an Extension for Code Enforcement Actions at 15653 Juniper Ridge Drive Purpose/Background: The purpose of this case is to review a request from David Clossey (the "Property Owner") at 15653 Juniper Ridge Drive NW (the "Subject Property") for a sixty (60) day extension to complete corrective actions regarding a notice of violation dated January 23, 2019. The violation of City Code involves an unpermitted structure within the required setback of the Rum River. Notification: No notification required. Observations/Alternatives: The Property Owner had installed a structure similar to a deck or platform anchored to trees and the ground. This structure does not comply with the required setback from either the Ordinary High Watermark (OHW) or the bluff line. The Property Owner has begun removing the unauthorized structure, but, due to current winter conditions, he has requested a sixty (60) day extension to complete the removal. The Property Owner submitted a written request for an extension as well as acknowledged his intention to comply with City ordinances. This case was observed by the Lower Rum River Watershed Management Organization (LRRWMO) on a routine tour of the Rum River, and requested that the City follow up on this case. Funding Source: Staff handles code enforcement as part of their normal duties. Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of Resolution #19-050 granting a 60-day extension to complete removal of the unauthorized structure on the Subject Property. Action: Motion to adopt Resolution #19-050 granting a 60-day extension to complete removal of the unauthorized structure on the Subject Property.
