Motion by Councilmember Strommen, secgnded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #05-01-028 establishing a 7 member Environmental Policy Board and to direct City Staff to proceed to advertise to fill the positions On the EnVironmental Policy Boar& Motion carried. Voting No: None. : Case #5: Request for an Interim Use permit to Allow for a Temporary Modular Omce Structure; Case of CitY of Rani~iey Public Works Department Community Development Directgr TrUdgeon ~tated the Ramsey Public Works Department has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to place a temporary modular office structure on the same parcel as their exis. t~g faCili~.~ The Public Works Department is in need of more inside storage and therefore plans to e°nVert ~elexisting office space into additional storage and relocate those offices into the temporary .modUlar office structure. He explained the Public Works Department would like tol install the structure on their site located on Jasper Street to provide an adequate office space for their Staff as well as a lunchroom and training area. Staff has reviewed the site plan that was submitted along with the application. _The proposed location of the temporary modular office, structure, does. not appear to impact any of the existing parking stalls on site. Due to the proposed loCatiOn)of the structure, the access to the site off of Jasper Street will be closed. This area will be :converted into green space with turf and other landscaping. New curbing Will be install~dl.along Jasper Street to facilitate the closing of this access. Primary access to the site will.n0w:be fi.om 142"d Avenue. -He explained the Public Works Department is proposing to remove the ',temporary modular office structure once a new office building is constructed. ,iHoweverl that timeframe is not known at this point. The maximum duration of an Interim Use permit is-five years from the date of approval, unless otherwise approved by the City Council. The Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended approval. : Councilmember Elvig commented these.faCilities are substandard and.he appreciates staff's approach with this temporary strUcture. .
