2001 Comprehensive Plan <br />Amended February 26, 2002 <br /> <br />2020 Traffic Forecasts <br />Significant development Is expected in Ramsey over the next 22 years. The 2020 <br />housing, population, and employment forecasts show significant growth from 1998 to <br />2020. These increases are expected to, have substantial impacts on the transportation <br />system. Revised traffic forecasts from the Anoka County 2015 Transportation Plan <br />were extrapolated five years beyond 2015 to prepare 2020 traffic forecasts. <br /> <br />At the request of the Metropolitan Council, traffic forecasts for the 2020 roadway <br />system with a new Mississippi River bridge were prepared. These were extrapolated <br />from the revised2015 Anoka County forecasts for this roadway alternative. A second <br />set of 2020 forecasts are included for reference purposes only and are based on the <br />bridge location as proposed by Anoka County. <br /> <br />The City is currently divided up into 10 Traffic Analysis Zones as illustrated on <br />Figure VI-3. These zones, known as TAZs, are used to establish an understanding of <br />the nUmber of trips that are generated from a particular area. and would use the <br />roadway system.
