RE-Powering encourages renewable energy development on current and formerly contaminated <br />lands, landfills and mine <br />site. The Initiative identifies the renewable energy potential of these sites and provides other useful <br />resources for communities and other stakeholders to pursue such redevelopment. In particular there <br />are Mapper and Decision Tree tools for locating and evaluating sites and best practice and case study <br />documents. There are also contacts knowledgeable about this type of redevelopment in each of the <br />EPA regional offices. <br />Thomas Bloom - Program Manager (US EPA, RE- - Region 5, Chicago, IL) <br />Thomas Bloom is the Region 5 manager for a national US EPA initiative called RE- <br />Land. Region 5 cover Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.
