Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #04-09-275 RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 04-31I, ' CONSTRUCTION ASSOCIATED WITH MUNICIPAL WELL #6 CONTRACT FOR OF WATERMAIN WHEREAS, on August 10, 2004, City Council adopted Resolution #04-08-209 approving the plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Improvement Project #04-31, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law; and WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the nine lowest quotes that were received: Bidder W.B. Miller, Inc Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. Amount ofBid $85,942.5O $101,285.00 Engineers Estimate: $185,000 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W~B. Miller, Inc is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W.B. Miller, Inc in the name of the City of Ramsey for the construction of Improvement project #04,31 in the :mount of $85,942.50. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except, that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
