Member Gromberg stated the third aspect Would be the maintenance of the current trails. <br />Member Strommen explained the maintenance of the current trails has been a concern of the <br />Council. A Park Trust Fund has been created to Provide maintenance funds. <br /> <br />The consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to draft a memo to the Park Commission stating <br />that the EDA is interested in adding trails in industrial parks into its Master Trail Plan and in <br />maintaining the current trails; and to authorize Chairperson Riley to sign the memo to the Park <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Case #6: Staff Update <br /> <br />The EDA reviewed the staff update <br /> <br />Golf Tournament: Associate Planner Wald requested direction from the EDA regarding the golf <br />tournament. She explained staff has discussed a Mardi Gras theme or a Cinqo de Mayo/Mexican <br />Theme with a fiesta. <br /> <br />Councilmember Strommen expressed concern with ethnic stereotypes being associated with a <br />Mexican theme. Member Gromberg concurred. <br /> <br />Economic Development Consultam Mulrooney suggested the term Mexican be excluded from <br />the description, and that it simply be described as a fiesta. <br /> <br />Member Kiefer commented a menu of steak and shrimp would be preferable to a taco bar. <br /> <br />The consensus of the EDA was to have the menu consist of steak and shrimp, rather than a taco <br />bar. <br /> <br />CDBG Funds: Economic Development/TIF SpeCialist Sullivan reported the City was awarded <br />$247,908.81 to be spent on acquisition and clean up of the Debee Property and clean-up of the <br />St. Paul Terminals property. Staff has applied for additional funds to help with the acquisition of <br />the St. Paul Terminals Property. <br /> <br />Zero Zone Refrigeration: Member Kiefer inquired aboUt administrative requirements regarding <br />funding for Super Value in relation to Zero Zone. Economic Development/TIF Specialist <br />Sullivan replied Super Value has paid off the Revolving Loan Fund in full. The City had already <br />received its portion of the funds and the remaining is going to the state. If Super Value will be <br />holding the land as Super Value the assumption agreement should be transferred to Super Value. <br />It may be that Zero Zone will remain the owner of the land. <br /> <br />Pulte Homes: Associate Planner Wald indicated there will be a special meeting with Pulte <br />Homes, rather than the Planning Commission meeting in March. The City is working on the <br />master planning and it affects this Property. Staff will meet with Pulte Homes on February 25th, <br />which is when the cases must be completed for the Pla~nning Commission.
