REPORT'FROMiPuBLIC WORKS <br />BY: PUblic ~Works Staff <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Committ~e met on Tuesday, <br />following five cases: ~. <br /> <br />February 15, 2005 <br /> <br />CASE # <br /> <br />and discussed the <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />CASE #1 <br /> <br />Review Street ~Maintenance program Projected Future Costs <br /> <br /> Background: <br /> <br />The 2005 Annual Street Mainl~enance Pr-°gr~am was presented at the January 2005 Public <br />Works Committee meeting. Also al: that~ meeting the Committee requested that projections <br />for future program years be presented fey reView. The purpose of this case is to comply <br />with that directive. Although the City's share <br />of this program averages app[~ximately $243;000 annually over the next six years, the <br />projected expenditures for 2005 and 1200¢ iare r°ughly $100,000 higher than this average. <br />The City will need to increase the Program bUdget to meet the 2006 and 2007 program <br />years or modify the program schedule, staff reported that the 2006 program consisted <br />almost entirely of bituminous oVerlaYs W~ch it felt would be risky to postpone. The other <br />funding sources for this progr~ currently inClUde developer escrows for the first <br />sealcoating and MSA funds. T~he above funding anticipates making full use of MSA <br />funding on all MSA Streets. Staffstiggested that it may be possible to consider allocating <br />some of the project overhead C~stS assoc-iated With the program as a possible funding <br />source to mitigate the shortfalllin these t~° years. <br /> <br />The Committee became aware that the Master Development Agreement with Ramsey <br />Town Center did not include eSerow funds for'the first sealcoating of streets within the <br /> <br /> <br />
