CASE #4 <br /> <br />Feasibility R~port for Welcome's Road Street Grading and Paving <br />Improvements <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Feasibility Report for Welcome'S RoadStreet Grading and Paving Improvements was <br />reviewed with the Committee. It ~was indicated thc project cost is estimated at <br />approximately $141,000, with the City Share at approximately $70,500. The remaining <br />$70,500 would be assessed equally among the 19 benefiting property owners. The City's <br />portion of funds would come ffoml the 'General Fund. It was also noted that an <br />informational meeting was held with the residents in the fall of 2004 and that a copy of this <br />feasibility report with a letter Will be sent to each of the residents on Welcome's Road. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that theCity council approve the Feasibility Report for W¢lcom¢'s <br />Road Street Grading and paving ImProVements. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />CASE #5 Review 2005 PUblic Works Objectives and Work Plan <br />Background: <br /> <br />Public Works Director Kapler reviewed the 2005 Public Works Objectives and Work Plan <br />with the Committee. He explained tiffs plan is in draft form and staff would like input <br />from the Committee. The committee discussed the following areas: <br /> <br />Level of Service to the City: <br />Mayor Gamec stated he cannot stressi enoUgh that one area of the City should not be <br />sacrificed for another area, such as ToWn Center. Public Works Director Kapler stated the <br />Public Works Department echOes these: concerns and does not want to see a reduction in <br />the level of service. <br /> <br />Utilities Work Plan: <br />Chairperson Elvig stressed the importance of including water treatment planning in the <br />plan. Assistant Public Works Director iOlson explained the action step discussed by staff <br />was to get some of the approPriate public Works staff up to speed on treatment facilities <br />and giving them the background information needed to work through the design. Mayor <br />Gamec stated work should begin' on Planning and designing a treatment center plant. <br />Chairperson Elvig commented with the road access and master planning there may be <br />property available for a treatment center: AssiStant Public Works Director Olson explained <br />staff has a proposal to start the :planning of Well 7 and Well 8. Well 7 was planned with a <br />temporary structure that would! eventually be replaced with a water treatment facility. He <br />explained the comprehensive Water pian inclUdes the cost of the water facility and how it <br />would be financed. <br /> <br /> <br />
