However, the high permeability also <br />increases the risk for potential contamination of <br />groundwater resources. SOLID WASTES; HAZARDOUS WASTES; STORAGE TANKS <br />Item <br />No. <br />Mitigation Description <br />2013 Update <br />2018 Update <br />20.0 <br />To decrease the amount of solid waste generated within the <br />City, Ramsey maintains the following policies as stated in <br />its 2001 Comprehensive Plan: <br />• Work with the Anoka County Integrated Waste <br />Management Department to develop and implement <br />programs that contribute to waste reduction, <br />resource recovery, recycling and limited landfilling; <br />• Continue to support curbside recycling of reusable <br />waste materials through educational events, <br />promotional events, and volunteer efforts; <br />• Research grants and funding programs through <br />federal, state, and local organizations that support <br />the —Three R's (reduce, reuse, and recycle); and <br />The City updated these policies in <br />the 2030 Comprehensive Plan and <br />will continue to work to <br />implement these measures. The <br />City updated the Comprehensive <br />Water Supply and Distribution <br />Plan. <br />In 2014, State Statute 115A.551 <br />was amended to specify a goal <br />that every metropolitan county <br />recycle 75%, by weight, of the <br />total solid waste generated by <br />2030. In response, the City has <br />created new and/or additional <br />opportunities for residents to <br />recycle both inorganic and <br />organic materials. The 2040 <br />Comprehensive Plan, Natural <br />Resources Plan chapter, was <br />updated to include this, as well as <br />14 <br />Mitigation Plan Update - 2018 <br />November 2018 <br />
