Information Title Adopt Resolution # 19-061 Authorizing Staff to Enter into Proposed MnDot Cooperative Landscaping Agreement # 1033218 for the Hwy 47 Landscaping Project. Purpose/Background: At the January 8, 2019 council meeting, council approved RESOLUTION #19-011 stating that the City of Ramsey is willing to enter into a cooperative agreement with MnDOT to execute the Hwy 47 landscape project SP0206-969A (TH 47 Sound wall). Staff has recieved the proposed landscape partnership agreement from MnDot, which states that MnDot will reimburse the City of Ramsey a not -to exceed amount of $10,000.00 for landscape materials to complete the project. The city of Ramsey will be responsible for the installation and long term maintenance of the Hwy 47 landscape project. The project is estimated to be completed in May of this year. Notification: N/A Observations/Alternatives: This project would touch on several areas of our strategic plan. Strategic Imperative III: Smart, Citizen -Focused Government 20) Improve the image of residential neighborhoods, business districts, and key corridors 22) Clean Up areas of blight along Highway 47/Saint Francis Blvd 24) Identify opportunities for community volunteer work and citizen recognition. Funding Source: This case was written as part of normal staff duties. Recommendation: Staff recommends approving RESOLUTION #19-061 stating that the City of Ramsey is willing to enter in to Landscape Partnership Agreement No.1033218 with MnDOT to execute the Hwy 47 landscape project #SP0206-969A (TH 47 Sound wall) Action: Approve staff recommendation and excute RESOLUTION #19-061 or deny staff recommendation and approve alternate recommendation based on council discussion.
