COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Pdverblood updated the Commission on the ice rink season. He stated <br />rink use earlier in the week was fifty to sixty persons each night at both facilities. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood noted Flintwood Terrace observation pier was approved by <br />the City Council this late fall, and all the parts have been ordered and constructed in house and <br />they are in the process of moving it outside to install it. He stated this project would be <br />completed in a couple of weeks, depending on weather and other priorities. <br /> <br />The Commission was also briefed on Alpine Park Discovery Garden. He stated the Ramsey <br />Rotary Club has agreed to participate in this. <br /> <br />Riverblood stated Trott Brook Greenway has had a number of easements drafted. Two of the <br />sites include thirty-six acres of conservation'and trail easement, and another has ten acres. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slu'yock asked what was happening with Titterud Park. <br /> <br />Parks/Utiliiies Supervisor Riverblood stated that some progress has been made. One element that <br />he is researching is an artificial turf that meets fall zone requirements and will also allow water to <br />percolate tlzrough to maintain the health of the existing oak trees. <br /> <br />Commissioner Slu'yock asked ifElmcrest Park was going to be up and running soon. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood responded that the Ramsey Youth Athletic Association <br />will be siting at least two regulation soccer fields for spring play.
