Motion by Commissioner Ippel and seconded by Commissioner Fults to
recommend Barbara Wiley be appointed to the Economic Development
Commission.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Commissioners Ippel, Greenberg, Vevea, Fults,
Muller, and Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairman Wagner and
Commissioner Gorecki.

It was also suggested that Mr. Pritchard be introduced to the Economic
Development Company for consideration.

COMMISSION BU~SS

Case #1; Status of Ramsey ~sident's Guide

It was suggested that the tree guide and information on Rum River docks and
stairways be put into their own separate packets.

Case #2; Update on Ramsey/Da_vton Mississippi River Bridge. Crossing

Anoka County approved the alignment and the concept. Metropolitan Council
requires city sewer line for the bridge. A question arose regarding the possibility
of businesses along Highway #47 losing business. A discussion ensued. It was
determined that a new road would only bring in new business, and not be a
detriment to businesses along Highway #47.

Case #3:

Review r~so]ution approvin~ po]{cv ~overn~ng appointments to
B~rds and Commissions in %he CiW of Ramsey

With a growing population there will be more people available to serve. However,
there is still a need for qualified Commission members. It is not seen as a
problem for a person to serve on more than one commission, unless there is a
problem with attendance. It is the fee]ing of the Commissioners that those
persons who are not fulfilling their commitment should be removed rather than
removing those who are serving on two commissions and are fulfilling their
obligations.

Case #4: Discussion of City participation in Flagship Industrial Park

This case was tabled due to lack of time.

Case #5: Discussion of establishmeni of Economic Development Authority

This case was tabled due to lack of time.

Economic Development Commission / August 9, 1989
Page 2 of 3
