Councilmember Shryock introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #19-070 RESOLUTION APPOINTING AND RE -APPOINTING BOARD AND COMMISSION MEMBERS WHEREAS, there are open seats on the City's boards and commissions as of April 1, 2019; and WHEREAS, the vacancies were advertised in the Ramsey Resident, the Anoka County Union, on the City's website, on QCTV, on the City's Facebook, and via the city's email notification system; and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted interviews on March 19, 2019; and WHEREAS, per Minnesota Statue 469.095, pertaining to the Mayor's authority to appoint members to the Economic Development Authority (EDA), Mayor LeTourneau indicated that he will select Ms. Shang Berg to be appointed to the EDA; and the City Council indicated approval with the Mayor's selection, as follows: Economic Development Authority, Shang Berg 5-year partial term (04-01-19 to 03-31-24); WHEREAS, the City Council agreed by consensus to the following remaining appointments to the boards and commissions, as follows: Environmental *Reid Bernard 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) Policy Board Park and Recreation *Brandon Sis 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) Commission Nathan Barten 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) Jennifer Shoemaker 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) Susan Barnes 1-year partial term (04-01-19 to 03-31-20) Planning Commission Torrey Johnson 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) Eric Peters 4-year full term (04-01-19 to 03-31-23) *Indicates a re -appointment NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) Motion to adopt resolution 419-070 as follows: 1) appointing the following board and commission members effective April 1, 2019: to the Economic Development Authority, Ms. Shang Berg to a 5-year partial term; and to the Environmental Policy Board, Mr. Reid Bernard to a 4-year full term; and to the Park and Recreation Commission, Mr. Nathan Barten to a 4-year full term, Ms. Jennifer Shoemaker to a 4-year full term, Mr. Brandon Sis to a 4-year full term, Ms. Susan Barnes to a 1-year partial term; and to the Planning Commission, Mr. Torrey Johnson to a 4-year full term and Mr. Eric Peters to a 4-year full term.
