City of Ramsey - Class Specification Bulletin <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />Planning Intern <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />Established Date: Jan 30, 2018 <br />Revision Date: Feb 5, 2018 <br />Bargaining Unit: None <br />pe5Cr i p+1 OV \ <br />Class Code: <br />11008 <br />SALARY RANGE <br />$12.00 - $14.00 Hourly <br />PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: <br />The City of Ramsey is seeking an Planning Intern to assist staff with multiple ongoing <br />City functions, projects and events including preparation of the Ramsey 2040 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update, a variety of land use planning and zoning administration <br />activities, processing applications for conditional use permits and enforcement of sign <br />regulations, along with attending the monthly Planning Commission meetings, selected <br />Environmental Policy Board meetings and various public workshops. <br />This is a temporary internship working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday / 8:00 a.m. <br />to 4:30 p.m. beginning in late April to early May and running through approximately mid - <br />September depending on availability and workload. Work hours may vary depending <br />on assigned projects or if the candidate is still attending school. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />• Must be at least 18 years of age <br />• Must have a valid unrestricted MN Driver's License with a good driving record <br />• Must be a current student pursing a Bachelor's degree in planning, housing, <br />geography, urban studies or a related field; or recent graduate looking to gain <br />experience <br />• Must have intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge and skills <br />• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills <br />• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision <br />Desired Qualifications include: <br />https://agency. governrnentj obs. com/cityoframsey/default.efm?action=specbn lletin&C1assS... 2/1 5/201 9 <br />
