As part of this
development, the City required the Developer to extend an 18-inch deep sewer main to the edge
of his plat to minimize inconvenience to the property owners that will move into this subdivision.
This sewer pipe did not benefit the development and should be eligible for trunk sewer credit.
Staff provided copy of the development agreement that was associated with this approved
development and on page 4 of 12 of the development agreement (Item 9) it shows that the
Developer paid for all of his trunk fees without any credit. On September 30, 2003, the City of
Ramsey received a request from the Developer to reimburse them for the cost of the installation
of the trunk sanitary sewer. This invoice is attached and has been verified by City Staff. Staff felt
that the invoice for $36,335 was a reasonable cost for the installation of the trunk sanitary sewer
cost and is eligible for reimbursement from the trunk sanitary sewer fund.
Councilmember Cook inquired if the pipe was installed to the City's specifications.
Assistant Director of Public Works Olson replied yes.
Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to recommend to the City
Council to reimburse Oakwood Land Development for $36,335 for installation of the trunk
sanitary sewer within Wildlife Sanctuary 3`d Addition.
Motion carried.
