Voting Yes: Chairperson Zimmerman, Councilmembers Cook and Elvig. Voting
No: None.
2) Discussion on Site Distance Clear Zones at Intersections
Assistant Director of Public Works Olson noted that staff would be bringing the issue back next
month with more information.
3) Tiger Meadows Subdivision
Councilmember Cook stated that he has been watching the subdivision on Tiger Street and felt
that the road that goes into the old subdivision by the old park is ideal. He stated that he was very
pleased with the results and thanked staff for pushing the issue.
4) T.H. #47 and 156th
Councilmember Elvig stated that across from River Pines turning onto 156th from T.H. #47 there
is no passing lane going north, but he sees everyone passing on the shoulder. He inquired if it was
possible to look into the possibility of creating a passing lane. Currently some people pass and
some don't so it can create quite a bottleneck.
Police Chief Way replied that there is not quite enough asphalt to move the line all the way over,
but they probably would only have to add a very small amount of asphalt. He did agree that not
having a passing lane does cause some confusion.
Consensus was to have staff look into the issue and bring forward some recommendations.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to adjourn the meeting.
Motion carried.
The regular meeting of the Public Works Committee adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
Public Works Committee/December 16, 2003
