CASE #1 <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CARNIVAL PERMIT <br /> By: Jo Thieling, City Clerk <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As Council is aware, permits such as this are usually on the Consent Agenda portion of the City <br />Council agenda. Jennifer's Dance Center is holding a fundraising carnival to be held at the Rum <br />River Plaza, beginning Tuesday, May 15, 2001. The studio did not realize the requirement of a <br />carnival permit and missed the Council meeting agenda of May 8. Staff suggested they get the <br />information in to City Hall and we would request Council meet briefly prior to the Public Works <br />Committee meeting on May 15. <br /> <br />The City Clerk has received the $250 fee and the application for the Carnival permit, along with <br />written permission from the property owner to hold the event. A background check will be <br />conducted by the Police Department on Monday so staff will have that information for Council <br />at the meeting. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve the temporary carnival permit for Northern Lights Amusements to hold a <br />fundraising carnival for Jennifer's Dance Center at Rum River Plaza. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />CC: 05/15/01 <br /> <br /> <br />
