Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #00-09-XXX RESOLUTION FOR LOCAL SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN WHEREAS, the Lower Rum River Watershed Management Organization prepared a Comprehensive Watershed Plan that was approved by the Board of Water and Soil Resources on August 26, 1998; and WltEREAS, in accordance with Minnesota Rules 8410.0160 and the Metropolitan Surface Watcr Management Act states that each unit of local government must establish a local surface water management plan consistent with State law; and WHEREAS, the Lower Rum River Watershed . Management Organization Comprehensive Watershed Plan states that each city will complete its local surface water management plan in a two-year period for its submittal to the Board of Water and Soil Resources; and WHEREAS, the two-year submittal from the Board of Water and Soil Resources was August 26, 2000; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has entered into a contract for a local surface water management plan with Short Elliott Hendrickson on September 5, 2000, to complete a local surface water management plan; and WItEREAS, under this contract with Short Elliott Hendrickson states that the local surface water management plan will be complete by December 31, 2000. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSE¥, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City of Ramsey will submit a Comprehensive Plan amendment to the Metropolitan Council, that will include a local surface Water Management Plan, by December 31,2000 for review and comment. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and thc following abstained: and the following were absent: -3-
