CASE # / <br /> <br />RESUME PROCESS TO HIRE RECEPTIONIST/SECRETARY <br /> Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Previously staff had hired Dawn Allen for the position of Receptionist/Secretary and she <br />began work on August 21, 2000. On August 28, 2000, Ms. Allen resigned leaving the <br />position of receptionist/secretary once again vacant. <br /> <br />This position had previously been posted internally as specified with the AFSCME <br />agreement before being posted externally. No internal candidates applied but thirty-three <br />applications were received from the external posting. Ms. Allen was one of six applicants <br />interviewed. With twenty-seven applicants still remaining in the pool, staff is requesting <br />authorization to proceed in interviewing additional candidates as opposed to re- <br />advertising the position. By going back to the applicant pool, both time and money will <br />be saved. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council give staff authorization to resume the hiring <br />process for a Receptionist/Secretary using the existing pool of applicants. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />CC: 9/5/00 <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
