CC Work Session 2. 4.
Meeting Date: 05/28/2019
Information
Title:
Washington, D.C. Meetings
Purpose/Background:
During the previous trip to Washington, D.C., Congressional staff recommended that City officials meet with
House Transportation Committee staff at a future date. The Committee is preparing legislation to secure funding to
address intersections and interchanges along critical U.S. highways. This is legislation being promoted by
Congressman Emmer and would likely benefit projects along US Highway 10.
The US Transportation Alliance has a meeting in Washington, D.C. on June 18-19 and it is recommended that the
City send a representative(s) to that meeting, and to meet with the Committee staff during the same time period.
The City has an interest in continuing to push for transportation funding, to assist our Congressional delegation in
shaping legislation, and to raise awareness of our needs and grant application. We also are asking that Federal
DOT/FHA officials visit Ramsey sometime this year. Staff supports sending an additional delegation to
Washington, D.C. in June.
Timeframe:
Funding Source:
Public Improvement Revolving (PIR) Fund.
Responsible Party(ies):
Kurt Ulrich
Outcome:
Consensus regarding additional travel to Washington, D.C..
No files) attached.
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Kurt Ulrich (Originator) Kurt Ulrich 05/23/2019 04:42 PM
Form Started By: Kurt Ulrich Started On: 05/23/2019 04:22 PM
Final Approval Date: 05/23/2019
