Councilmember Musgrove introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #19-117 <br />RESOLUTION TO HIRE A PATROL OFFICER <br />WHEREAS, the 2019 budget included funding for a new Patrol Officer position; and <br />WHEREAS, a recruitment process was conducted; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Jordan England has been selected by staff to fill the position; and <br />WHEREAS, Mr. England successfully passed the City's pre -employment checks, <br />including: reference checks, background and driving record checks, pre -employment assessments, <br />and pre -employment physical and drug screen; and <br />WHEREAS, all Patrol Officers are subject to the Law Enforcement Labor Services union <br />contract, including a 1-year probation; and <br />WHEREAS, Staff recommends hiring Mr. Jordan England effective on or near June 5, <br />2019, at step 1 of the 2019 pay scale, which is $26.52 per hour. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution 419-117 hiring Mr. Jordan England to the position of Patrol <br />Officer, effective on or near June 5, 2019 at $26.52 per hour, which is step 1 of the 2019 <br />wage scale. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Heinrich, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Musgrove <br />Councilmember Heinrich <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Riley <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
