City of Ramsey - Class Specification Bulletin Page 2 of 3 <br />• Must reside within the allowed distance for responding to on -call situations <br />(approximately 30 minutes) <br />• Must agree to be a member of the on -call team <br />• Must have experience in the operation and maintenance of construction <br />equipment <br />• Must pass a criminal history check and driver's license check <br />• Must pass a pre -employment physical exam and drug screen <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS <br />• Previous experience in commercial snow plowing <br />• Previous experience working with asphalt pavements <br />• Previous experience working with street sweeping equipment <br />• Previous experience working in a county or municipal environment <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />• Construct/maintain streets, parking lots and related property <br />• Perform snow related activities <br />• Perform general maintenance and general activities <br />• Perform general labor <br />• Perform vehicle motorized equipment maintenance <br />• Perform/assist with landscape/grounds care/forestry/naturalist activities <br />• Provide assistance with preparation of community events <br />• Perform mechanical building maintenance and repair <br />• Perform a wide range of tasks at the verbal or written direction (within the ability <br />and resources of the Public Works Streets Maintenance Worker) from the Public <br />Works Superintendent, Streets Supervisor, Parks Supervisor, Utility Supervisor or <br />his/her designee <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and communicate in English <br />• Ability to work independently with limited supervision <br />• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including cold or hot <br />temperatures, high humidity, wind, or rain <br />• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers <br />• Ability to transport oneself to and around the work site <br />• General knowledge of maintenance and landscape principles (streets, parks, <br />facilities) <br />https://agency.governmentjobs.com/cityoframsey/default.cfm?action=specbulletin&ClassSp... 2/ 1 /2019 <br />
