Name: Carol Ellis
Address: 7001 166th Ave NW
Phone: 763-753-5570

General Comments:
I am not very familiar with all the'boundary areas surrounding our city or all the government
language that goes along with it. In addition, to be honest I have not attended a lot of these meetings
regarding our community and .grOwth anddevel~opment. Therefore, my first thOught was to listen,
learn and find out the reaction of People regarding this matter.
From almost the time we entered the station, comments from several people were: "they are going
to do what they want to do anyway so why attend?" and ',they will present this to us and then "go
under the table" to get what they warn. some one mentioned such things as notices of meeting dates
incorrect and then due to lack ofattendanee the issue at hand is passed.
As a citizen of Ramsey, I am all for growth and development for our community, but I do have to
say my first reaction to this meeting was "Who are. these People working for??" Us as a community
hoping to continue our country living and t° passlOn to our children and grandchildren or the people
with the Dollar Signs behind them?
My husband was presenting a question to one of the council members regarding the development
behind our home. He was told that this meeting was regarding the sewer and water and if he had
concerns regarding the other to place them on his'Comment sheet. He mentioned to the engineer
member that he felt they went hand and hand because if a development was not going in there sewer
and water wouldn't be an issue at this immediate time. Again he was told to place his concerns on
the comment sheet and dismissed him. If this meeting was to answer questions regarding the up
coming growth of Ramsey and you are the community's informers...isn't EVEI~Y QUESTION
important and deserves an answer?.????
I guess if we are fighting over seas and losing Young men and women to try and help teach and
inform nations and their people to be involved in government and to trust and hold their politicians
honest, then maybe shouldn't we practice this in our own community, nOt question and wonder the
INTEGRITY of our own government officials and the work they are doing. I'm sorry but on leaving
that meeting, I did not leave with the feelingof trust and honesty and I felt compelled to question the
INTEGRITY of many.
As someone that wants to learn and really start to take an-active interest in the development and
betterment of community, I was VERY d~sappointed. I left there feeIing that_if Our community can't
have an open honest conversation knoWing that notall will agree, but points of view and interests
would be listened to, discussed and presented in a ihOnest way...then WHAT COUNTRY DO WE
LIVE IN?? It made me wonder if the old saYing was right...MONEY TALKS...
Are our leaders today working fetus as a community so that we can and will grow and be able to
say Ramsey is a safe and thriving area to live or are they working only for possible re-election
knowing ali in all Money is needed for backing and that is whom they are most interested in. Will
our community turn into a Sad BROOKLYN pARK OR BROOKLYN CENTER due to fast quick
decisions that serve today and not our tomorrows?
I am looking forward to learning more about each and everyone that serves us as a community
official. Will their comments about you be Positive and solid? I hope so ~o.
