5.02: Public Hearing: Consider Request for Conditional Use Permit to Operate a Preschool <br />at 6013 167th Avenue NW (Project No. 19-117); Case of Valerie Phillips <br />Public Hearing <br />Chairperson Bauer called the public hearing to order at 7:12 p.m. <br />Presentation <br />City Planner Anderson presented the staff report and recommendation to approve of the <br />Conditional Use Permit to operate a preschool on the subject property. <br />Commissioner VanScoy asked if approval would be contingent upon conformance to the outcome <br />of the inspections. <br />City Planner Anderson confirmed that is one of the recommended conditions of approval. <br />Citizen Input <br />Valerie Phillips, 14211 Argon Street NW, stated that she has been teaching for 31 years and noted <br />that this would be a Montessori preschool. <br />Motion by Commissioner Anderson, seconded by Commissioner Peters, to close the public <br />hearing. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bauer, Commissioners Anderson, Peters, Johnson, <br />Gengler, VanScoy, and Woestehoff. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />Chairperson Bauer closed the public hearing closed at 7:17 p.m. <br />Commission Business <br />Motion by Commissioner Gengler, seconded by Commissioner Anderson, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Resolution #19-132 granting a Conditional Use Permit to operate a preschool on <br />the subject property. <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Bauer, Commissioners Gengler, Anderson, Johnson, <br />Peters, VanScoy, and Woestehoff. Voting No: None. Absent: None. <br />
