Councilmember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br />MECHANIC <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-12-380 <br /> <br />CONSIDERING AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE A PUBLIC WORKS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, 25 applications were received for the Public Works Mechanic position and <br />six applicants were interviewed for the position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff recOmmends that Mr. Nick Maras be hired for the Public Works <br />Mechanic position. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT,RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br /> <br />1 ) Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: <br /> <br />Hire Nick Maras as the Public Works Mechanic at an hourly wage of $19.02 contingent <br />upon satisfactory criminal background and reference checks, a pre-employment physical <br />and a drug screen. Mr. Maras will begin employment on or near January 3, 2004 and will <br />be subject to a six-month probationary period. All other personnel polices will apply <br />normally. <br /> <br />Thc motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councihnember Kurak <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and thc £ollowing voted against the same: <br /> None <br /> <br />and thc following abstained: <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> Mayor Gamec <br /> Councihnember Strommen <br /> <br /> <br />
