Councihnember Jeffrey introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #05-01-027 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE 2005 HEALTH INSURANCE CONTRIBUTION <br />FOR AFSCME MEMBERS AND NON-uNION PERSONNEL <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the city has negotiated :the 2005 health insurance contribution with the <br />representatives of the AFSCME bargaining unit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the bargaining unit members accepted the city's offer for health insurance <br />contribution on January 20, 2005. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff continues negotiations with the LELS Patrol and LELS Sergeants <br />bargaining units regarding this issue; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, staff is requesting the use of Council Contingency funds to cover the gap in <br />funds budgeted for this purpose and the Cost of the proposed contribution. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes a city contribution of $380.17 <br />(100% plan) or $352.09(90/10% plan) (depending on the plan selected for single health <br />insurance coverage and a contribution of $630.00 for family coverage and that those <br />employees who currently waive ihealth insurance and receive $290.00 per month shall <br />continue to receive that ipayment i:or 2005 and that the 2005 contribution is retro-active to <br />01/01/2005 for AFSCM~E bargaining unit members. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes a city contribution of $380.17 <br />(100%) plan or $352.09 (90/10% plan) (depending on the plan selected) for single health <br />insurance coverage and a contribution of $630.00 for family coverage and that those <br />employees who currently waive health insurance and receive $290.00 per month shall <br />continue to receive that payment for 2005 and that the 2005 contribution is retro-active to <br />01/01/2005 for benefit eligible non-union city staff. <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes the use of Council Contingency <br />funds in an amount of $18,000.00 for 'the additional cost of the city's contribution to <br />health insurance for 2005. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Cook, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Counci hnember Elvig <br />Councilmember Olson <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Strommen <br /> <br /> <br />
