Councilmember Kurak introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-11-353 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CLOSING CITY HALL FOR HOLIDAYS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are paid holidays for City of Ramsey <br />employees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day fall on Friday and Saturday this year; <br /> <br />al]d <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, AFSCME employees will: take their paid Christmas holiday on Monday, <br />December 27, 2004 as per labor negotiations; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, New Year's Day 2005 is a paid holiday for City of Ramsey employees <br />which falls on a Saturday this year; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, AFSCME employees will take New Year's Day on Friday, December 31, <br />2004 as per their labor agreement with the City. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />l>crsonnel Committee to: <br /> <br />· Grant non-union employees a paid Christmas Day holiday on Monday, December <br /> 27, 2004 which would require that the City Council close City Hall. <br />· Grant non-union employees a paid New Year's Day holiday on Friday, December <br /> 31, 2004 which would require that the City Council close City Hall. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Pearson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Counc ilmember Kurak <br />Councihnember Pearson <br />Councihnember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Strommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and thc fbllowing voted against the same: <br /> <br />NOI1C <br /> <br /> <br />
