CASE <br /> <br />PUBLIC HE ~AI~I~ NG ON!IMP,~OVEMENT PROJECT #05-23 <br /> s? gT O ILITY IMPROWMENTS <br /> BETWEEN 137TM AVENUE AND RIVERDALE DRIVE <br /> By: .$teven J Jank~wski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Three property owners petitioned the City in 2004 for the extension of sewer and water utilities <br />along a segment of Ebony Street betweett 137th? Avenue and Riverdale Drive. In addition to the <br />petitioned sewer and water improvements, Staff recommended several additional improvements <br />which should be undertaken in ¢onjuncfion'with~ this work. These improvements include looping <br />the watermain between 137th Avenue and Rivet/dale Drive to improve fire flow capabilities and <br />water system reliability, narrowing the road,way which .is excessively wide, providing a <br />bituminous overlay on the street because of the poor condition of the pavement, and adding <br />concrete curb and gutter. <br /> <br />Attached to this case is a copy of the feasibility study which contains current and proposed conditions of <br />the street along with the projem costs and the~ anticipated method of financing the improvements. Shou:ld direct any revisions to the feasibility study it deems <br />necessary as a result of the comments made at thepublic hearing, as the feasibility study will serve as the <br />basis for determining the worl~ to be Performed and the method in which costs will be financed. <br />Assuming no petitions are received froma majority of the benefited prOperties opposing the improvement, <br />the Council will be asked to order the projects atithe May 24, 2005 meeting. It is anticipated that contracts <br />will be awarded at the June 28, 2005 coUncil meeting and. work will be-performed during June through <br />August.
