CONSIDER PUBLIC RELATIONS/NEWSLETTER ASSISTANCE <br /> By: james E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council discussed public relations, newsletter and other communications services needs <br />during a Council Work Session on March 15, 2005. The Council agreed to send the matter <br />forward for Council authorization for development of a Strategic Communications Plan, <br />assistance with the community newsletter, and communication assistance during special events <br />such as the upcoming Town Center ground breaking ceremonies. <br /> <br />Staff discussed utilizing the services of Goff & Howard, Inc. of St. Paul for a contract price not <br />to exceed $15,000. Funding would consist of a transfer fi:om the General Fund Council <br />Contingency to the General Fund budget of the newsletter in the amount of $15,000. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Finance Committee recommends that the City Council authorize a contract with Goff & Howard, <br />Inc. for public relations work for a not to exceed amount of $15,000. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to City Council to Adopt Resolution #05-03-XXX authorizing a contract <br />with Goff & Howard, Inc. for public relations work in an amount not to exceed $15,000 and <br />transferring $15,000 from the budget of the Council Contingency to the budget of the newsletter. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />Finance Officer <br /> <br />FC: 3/22/05 <br /> <br /> <br />
