Subsequently, the sign adjacent to the Northstar Commuter Rail Station was recently damaged in a motor
vehicle accident. The base of the monument sign was damaged and will need to be replaced as part of the larger
sign update. Additionally, after the crash, Staff inspected the sign and found that there were some internal
modifications required to ensure the sign remains safe post -crash. The below quotes include the cost of rehabbing
the base of the sign and required internal items, as well as the installation of a digital display and branding updates.
Staff is working with the insurance provider of the driver that damaged the sign to recoup costs related to that
incident.
The quotes below also include those for the sign on the corner of Ramsey Blvd and Highway 10, including a
branding update, tenant panel refresh so all panels match, and backlighting the sign with internal LEDs.
Notification:
Notification is not required.
Observations/Alternatives:
Proposals
Company
Digital Display
Ramsey Blvd Sign
Albrecht Sign Company
$175,545
$17,485
Demars Signs
$158,425
$10,625
Lumen Signs
$164,650
$8,975
Think Digital Signs
$136,690
$11,860
Above is a summary of the proposals received, please note that full proposals are attached and that Think Digital
Signs and Albrecht Sign Company has met with City Staff and provided additional information on the sign type
and operating process.
