7.2.2.4 Estimated Cost <br />Approximately $1,000-$2,000 for each well sealing reminder mailing event. City staff time and costs for <br />preparing and mailing reminders to well owners and for preparing reminders to be included in the City's <br />newsletter, on the City's website, or on the Know the Flow website. <br />7.2.2.5 Goals Achieved <br />As this action is implemented, the City's goal of eliminating potential pathways for contaminants to travel <br />from the ground surface to the source water aquifer will be realized. <br />Success criterion: The first reminder distributed to well owners in the DWSMAs within two years of MDH <br />approval of the WHPP and subsequent reminders distributed every three years thereafter for the life of <br />the Plan and tracking of the number of reminders distributed. <br />7.2.3 Identify New High -Capacity Wells within or Near the DWSMAs <br />City staff will request the MDH to notify the City when requests for new high capacity wells within the <br />Ramsey DWSMAs are received. City staff will also contact the MDNR to request that the City receive <br />notification via MPARS when the MDNR receives requests for new high capacity wells or new or changed <br />appropriations within the Ramsey DWSMAs. If necessary, assistance from the Wellhead Protection <br />Consultant will be requested to assess whether the new high capacity wells or new appropriations may <br />result in a change in the DWSMA boundaries. <br />7.2.3.1 Source of Action <br />City staff will contact the MDH and MDNR regarding notifications on new high capacity wells and new or <br />changed appropriations in the Ramsey DWSMAs. City staff will also request, as needed, assistance from <br />the Wellhead Protection Consultant and the MDH to evaluate whether proposed pumping (or changes to <br />pumping) will change the boundaries of the DWSMAs delineated for Ramsey's wells. <br />7.2.3.2 Cooperators <br />MDH, MDNR, and, possibly, the Wellhead Protection Consultant <br />7.2.3.3 Time Frame <br />Request to the MDH and MDNR to set up notifications will be made within two years of Plan approval; <br />evaluation of potential changes to the DWSMA boundaries as needed. <br />7.2.3.4 Estimated Cost <br />Approximately $3,000-$10,000 for each event of identifying new wells or changes to existing <br />appropriations permits and evaluating how the changes may affect the DWSMA boundaries. City staff <br />time and, potentially, Wellhead Protection Consultant time. <br />23 <br />
