City of Ramsey Local Water Supply Plan 2018-2028
4. Water use for power production above the use provided for in the contingency plan.
5. All other water use involving consumption of more than 10,000 gallons per day.
6. Nonessential uses — car washes, golf courses, etc.
Water used for human needs at hospitals, nursing homes and similar types of facilities should
be designated as a high priority to be maintained in an emergency. Lower priority uses will
need to address water used for human needs at other types of facilities such as hotels, office
buildings, and manufacturing plants. The volume of water and other types of water uses at
these facilities must be carefully considered. After reviewing the data, common sense should
dictate local allocation priorities to protect domestic requirements over certain types of
economic needs. Water use for lawn sprinkling, vehicle washing, golf courses, and recreation
are legislatively considered non -essential.
Table 18. In extreme
emergency situations, lower priority water uses must be restricted or eliminated to protect
priority domestic water requirements. Emergency demand reduction potential should be based
on average day demands for customer categories within each priority class. Use the tables in
Part 3 on water conservation to help you determine strategies.
Complete Table 19 by selecting the triggers and actions during water supply disruption
conditions.
37 November 29, 2018
