CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Special Work Session on Tuesday, <br />September 3, 2019, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Also Present: <br />Mayor John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Nadine Heinrich <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember Jeff Menth <br />Councilmember Debra Musgrove <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Finance Director Diana Lund <br />Fire Chief Matt Kohner <br />Police Chief Jeff Katers <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Mark Riverblood <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />Administrative Services Director Colleen Lasher <br />Community Development Director Timothy Gladhill <br />City Engineer Bruce Westby <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor LeTourneau called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:37 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: 2020 General Fund/Levy Review — Continued Discussion <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated that this is a special worksession focused on budget discussion. <br />He stated that the intent would be to have a preliminary levy adopted by the second meeting in <br />September, which allows the City to submit that information to the County prior to the deadline. <br />He noted that a number of revisions have been made in attempt to present a lower levy amount. <br />Finance Director Lund reviewed the staff report. <br />Mayor LeTourneau asked for clarification on whether the Recreation Specialist and Police <br />Officer position were included in the budget. <br />Finance Director Lund confirmed that the Recreation Specialist and the Police Officer position, <br />approved in the 2019 budget, were included in the budget as presented tonight.
