CC Special Work Session <br />Meeting Date: 07/16/2019 <br />Title: <br />Receive Update on Ramsey Gateway Project: Highway 10/169 Plan <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Staff and Planning/Design Consultant (Bolton and Menk) will provide an update on planning efforts for Highway <br />10/169 and seek policy direction on preferred alternatives for Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard <br />Interchanges. See the attached presentation for more specifics. <br />Recommendations and Talking Points: <br />• Staff and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) recommends the Folded Diamond Alternative for Ramsey <br />Boulevard. <br />• Staff and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) needs policy direction for Sunfish Lake Boulevard <br />regarding the railroad crossing. Staff will present these scenarios along with associated costs and benefits at <br />the meeting. Staff and TAC have been unable to formulate a recommendation without this important policy <br />direction. This is the most important policy direction the Council can provide this evening. <br />• Residential properties on the south side of Riverdale Drive west of Sunfish Lake Boulevard have expressed <br />concern about mixing southbound Sunfish Lake Boulevard to eastbound Highway 10/169 onto Riverdale <br />Drive. <br />• Staff continues to discuss options to extend Riverdale Drive east of Tungsten Street with impacted owners. <br />This item does not have to be resolved today, as there are options to consider upon final design. <br />The Anoka County Board of Directors Transportation Committee is scheduled to receive this same update on <br />Wednesday, July 17. Staff has also recently met with the MnDOT Metro District Engineer and North Area Manager. <br />Timeframe: <br />60 Minutes <br />Funding Source: <br />The Planning Study is funded by the Public Improvement Revolving (PIR) Fund. <br />Responsible Party(ies): <br />Community Development Director <br />Outcome: <br />The primary outcomes desired are as follows: <br />1. Select Folded Diamond as Preferred Alternative at Ramsey Boulevard <br />2.
