<br />Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #19-266 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING BIDS FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #19-10, <br />HEDGEHOG STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />drainage improvements are needed east of the intersection of Hedgehog <br /> <br />th <br />Street and 156 Lane NW to contain stormwater runoff within the public drainage easement; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City Engineer prepared final plans and specifications for <br />constructing pond lining improvements in both ponds to comply with current stormwater <br />management and wellhead protection standards; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-234, adopted <br />September 24, 2019, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized <br />advertisements for bids for said improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and <br />Commerce on October 4, 2019; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />bids were received, opened, and tabulated on October 30, 2019, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisements for bids; and <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br />Northland Excavating $23,972.46 <br />North Valley, Inc. $29,854.68 <br />JL Theis, Inc. $32,015.00 <br />Blackstone Contractors, LLC $32,625.00 <br />Standard Contracting $32,640.00 <br />US SiteWork $35,963.00 <br />Sunram Construction, Inc. $45,724.00 <br />Engineer’s Estimate $13,085.75 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />all bids received are substantially higher than the engineer’s estimate and <br />are hereby rejected. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1)The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to reject all bids for said <br />improvements for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey, and to advertise bids for said <br />improvements next spring in conjunction with other proposed drainage improvements. <br /> <br />
