CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING (CANVASSING) <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a Canvassing Board Meeting to canvass the results of the <br />Special General Election, on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 <br />Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Nadine Heinrich <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember Jeff Menth <br />Councilmember Debra Musgrove <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis G. Ulrich <br />Administrative Services Director Colleen Lasher <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor LeTourneau called the City Council Canvassing Board to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. CITIZEN INPUT <br />There was none. <br />3. APPROVE AGENDA <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br />4. COMMISSION BUSINESS <br />4.01: Declare the Results of the November 5, 2019 Special General Election <br />Administrative Services Director Lasher explained the purpose of this evening's Canvassing Board <br />meeting is to accept and declare the results of the November 5 Special General Election to fill the <br />Ward 3 vacancy. Both polling places were open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The voter turnout <br />for this election was about 9%, which was very good. The election resulted in 266 votes for <br />Councilmember elect Dan Specht and 174 votes for candidate Josh Fuhreck. There were 4129 <br />registered voters as of 7:00 a.m. on Election Day and 14 new persons registered either during the <br />absentee balloting period or on Election Day. There were 55 accepted absentee ballots. It is staff s <br />recommendation that the City Council accept and declare the results of the special election and to <br />sign the abstract of votes cast. <br />Canvassing Board Meeting / November 12, 2019 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
