Anoka County <br />MINNESOTA <br />Respectful, Innovative, Fiscally Responsible <br />Anoka County 2019 <br />Multi -Jurisdictional <br />All Hazards Mitigation Plan <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: The City of Lino Lakes continues to see <br />growth in its industrial and commercial sectors. The availability of vacant land, municipal utilities, <br />and freeway access each are strong amenities that will allow Lino Lakes to compete for future <br />economic development. New development has occurred with the extension of sanitary sewer <br />and municipal water. <br />Between 2008 and 2018, the City has added 439,655 square feet of industrial space and <br />between 2008 and 2018, 78,280 square feet in commercial/retail space. <br />Residential development and trends: The City has a sustained residential growth that will <br />continue over the next 20 years. <br />Infrastructure and infrastructure projects: There are many planned infrastructure projects. <br />The City has identified a need to provide convenient pedestrian and automobile connections <br />throughout the community in order to establish a unified community identity. A future <br />interchange location has been identified at 80th Street and I-35E. A new bridge will be <br />constructed at 35W and 80th Street. The City has constructed a new City well and has made <br />system connection thought the City. The City has completed a second Fire Station that services <br />the East side of the City. For utilities, the City will be extending sewer and water trunk lines to <br />facilitate residential development. <br />LINWOOD TOWNSHIP <br />Geographic location and characteristics: Linwood Township is a thirty-six square mile <br />community located in the northeast corner of Anoka County, approximately 35 miles northeast <br />of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The township is primarily agricultural and residential in land use, with <br />very little commercial development. The Town of Linwood is located at Latitude 45.37 N and <br />Longitude 93.08W and has an elevation of 892 feet. <br />Public lands: The Township of Linwood has 220 acres of public land. These areas include <br />churches, schools, township offices, fire station, public works, and township parks. The Martin - <br />Island -Linwood Lakes Regional Anoka County Park is located in Linwood Township as well and <br />is 700 Acres in size. Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area is also located in Linwood and is <br />5760 acres in size. <br />Private fee areas: There are no private fee areas in Linwood Township. <br />Agriculture and forestry: Approximately 4563 acres within Linwood Township receive the <br />agricultural property tax classification by the Anoka County Assessors Office. The Carlos Avery <br />Wildlife Management Area does have publicly managed forestlands. <br />Commercial and industrial development and trends: The Township of Linwood has very little <br />commercial or industrial property within its boundary due to the lack of centralized sewer <br />system. <br />Residential development and trends: The Township has a sustained residential growth that <br />will continue for the foreseeable future as the existing farmland is developed into residential <br />parcels. There have been 61 new single-family dwelling permits issued in Linwood Township <br />from 2014 through 2018. <br />Infrastructure and infrastructure projects: Two Anoka County highways serve as the main <br />corridors for traffic, Fawn Lake Drive on the north, and Viking Blvd on the south. urn lanes are <br />being added to one section of Fawn Lake Drive and street lights have been added to Viking <br />148 <br />Commented [JS155]: Previous Language: <br />There have been 206 new single-family dwelling permits <br />issued in Linwood Township from the beginning of the year <br />11999 through the end of year 2004. <br />
