Mayor Gamec replied that if the residents are willing to construct the fence and maintain the <br />fence he sees no reason to charge them the fees. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that it seemed that the cleanest way to resolve the issue is <br />option three, even if they do have a small investment with legal work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that the parameters required with the rebuilding of T:H. #47 <br />are not the same in this area and inquired if the City will have any problems in the future if they <br />needed to expand the road. <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski replied that the City would still retain street fight of way. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson stated that they do have 60 feet of right of way from the centerline <br />and they are planning on giving 15 feet to the adjacent property owners, which will still give <br />them 25 feet of additional right-of-way. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to recommend that the trail be <br />constructed at the bottom of the berm and that the fence issue be resolved as. defined in option <br />three. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Director of Public Works/Fire ChiefKapler recommended that the motion be <br />contingent upon the City acquiring the outlot from US Homes. <br /> <br />Motion was amended to make the recommendation contingent upon the City acquiring the outlot <br />from US Homes. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Principal City Engineer Olson inquired if staff could proceed with the <br />platting of the property as far as getting Hakanson Anderson involved. Councilmember <br />Zimmerman replied that that direction would have to come from the Council. Councilmember <br />Hendriksen recommended that staff bring forward those costs at the next Council meeting. <br />Councilmember Kurak stated that she would be more comfortable with the issue being a regular <br />case on the Council agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Request by Residents to Install Stop Signs at 156th Lane NW/Yakima Street <br />NW <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson stated that it was brought to the City's attention by several <br />residents of the Reilley Estates subdivision that a sight restricted intersection exists on 156th Lane <br />NW and Yakima Street NW. Staff visited the site and performed a volume count near the <br />intersection to check if volume would warrant the placement of an all-way stop sign. The results <br />of the volume analysis indicate an average of approximately 270 vehicles per day on 156th Street <br />and 139 vehicles per day on Yakima Street NW.
