FC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM COUNCIL <br />CONTINGENCY FUND FOR CHINA SISTER CITY PROGRAM <br /> By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey has been in discussions recently considering the possibility of a sister-city <br />relationship with the City of Loudi, China. The sister-city program will entail cultural exchange <br />of ideas and possible business opportunity between the two cities. In order to embark on a sister- <br />city rclationship, delegations will be sent to China and the City will receive delegations from the <br />City of Loudi. The firm of HS & Associates, Inc. of St. Paul will be coordinating the visits. <br /> <br />Thc visits will be funded through the Council contingency fund. The first visit is scheduled for <br />May where the City of Ramsey will send the initial delegation to meet with Loudi officials to <br />tbrmally initiate the relationship. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution #05-04-XXX authorizing the transfer of funds from the Council Contingency <br />[:und lbr China Sister City Program. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />}:inancc Officer <br /> <br />CC: 04/12/05 <br /> <br /> <br />
