CASE

CONSIDER CONTRACT REVISION TO LSA DESIGN
By: Brian E. Olson, Assistant Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer

Background:

The scope of services for LSA Design that was approved, last year assumed that the first phase
of the parking ramp will only include 460 cars. After recently chan~ng the first phase of the
parking ramp to include the fourth level and up to 600 stalls, there is also a need to increase the
scope of services for design services. Attached to this case is a proposal from LSA to
accomplish this.

It should be noted that this proposal was included in the costs for the design in the feasibility
study and is not unantic!pated.

Additionally, there are a few items that they have wor!dng with us on that need additional action
are included in the proposal.

We have been discussing the proposal with them recent, ly and are expecting that there will be an
updated proposal on Tuesday night.

It is Staff's intent to bring this back to the City Counc).l for ratification at the next regularly
scheduled City Council meeting.

Staff recommends a motion to recommend to the City CoUncil that the contract for LSA be
amended to include the items that are in the proposal. The funds for this will come from a
combination of the parking ramp project and the escrow from the Ramsey Town Center.

Coxnmittee Action:

Motion to recommend to the City Council that the contract for LSA be amended to include the
items that are in the proposal. The funds for this will come from' a combination of the parking
ramp project and the escrow from the Ramsey Town Center.

Reviewed by:
Public Works Director/Fire Chief
City Administrator

PW: 3/15/05
