Councihnember Cook stated that if we can find three developments to view - it would take a <br />couple el'days. <br /> <br />Mayor (;amcc suggested the seven Councilmembers, Mr. Norman, Mr. Trudgeon, Mr. Olson <br />and/or Mr. Kaplcr. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook suggested adding the Chair of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Cotmcihncmbcr Strommen inquired if there was a possibility of splitting into two groups and <br />sending one group to California and the other to Arizona. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamcc expressed opposition to that - stating he wanted everyone to see the same thing. <br /> <br />Councihncmbcr Strommen stated that a group of 7 could visit six sites if the group was broken <br /> <br />Councihnember Olson inquired what does that do as far as staff is concerned. <br /> <br />(~ou nc il m om bet S trommen stated that the trips do not have to be at the same time. <br /> <br />Mayor (}alnCC reiterated his position that everyone should be seeing the same thing. <br /> <br />Mr. Norman commented on the open meeting law and added that we, in the past, have taken the <br />media along - our local newspaper reporter. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamcc asked staff to get the costs together and bring the information back to Council for <br />discussion and decision. <br /> <br />4) Discussion of Future Topics <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to thc list of 22 future topics for work session agendas. The headings <br />t'or Work Session Agendas are "Topics for Discussion" and "Future Topics". It was determined <br />lhat another heading "Scheduled Topics" should be added. City Administrator Norman <br />suggested thcre may be some topics that could be removed also. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />China Sister City - this item will be on the next work session agenda. <br />RTC Project Financing & Fiscal Impact - next work session <br />Oak Terrace - this will be discussed by March 22nd. <br />Commercial Asphalt - Fire Chief Kapler inquired if this should remain a future topic. <br />Mayor Gamec suggested it be removed. Councilmember Strommen stated there are <br />still businesses in the area that have a problem with the odors from Commercial <br />Asphalt. Mayor Gamec stated that they have not contacted City Hall. Chief Kapler <br />asked for consensus. He added that if the issue comes up, staff will communicate it - <br />if there is a complaint, staff will monitor it.
