'['hc consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to fine tune the discussed 2005 goals and bring it <br />back to the next EDA meeting as a work plan idea. <br /> <br />Case #3: Staff Update <br /> <br />'l'hc l iDA reviewed the Staff Update. TIF Specialist Sullivan reviewed the following <br />in lbrmation with the EDA: <br /> The Douglas and Gary Hanson Property: Removal of the building at 14040 Azurite <br /> Street NW will commence this month and will conclude on or before April 15, 2005. <br /> , Dcbee Property: Staff is in contact with the owner of this parcel and has begun the <br /> t~mnal process required by CDBG for acquisition. The appraisal amount was $170,000 <br /> and relocation costs above this amount will be required. <br /> · Amoco Property: The City Attorney is reviewing the purchase agreement and deeds. <br /> Council action will be necessary by the end of March. <br /> · Zero-Zone Refrigeration: On Monday, February 7, 2005 SuperValu purchased Total <br /> I~ogistics, Inc. Zero-Zone Refrigeration was held by this holding company. Staff is <br /> currently in contact with SuperValu and Zero-Zone to finalize a proposed acquisition of <br /> the former Spohn Property for a future expansion. <br /> <br />MEMBER INPUT <br /> <br />Member KictTer explained Alliant Tech Systems is a spinoff of Honeywell that currently owns <br />f.'edcral Cartridge and has a facility in Elk River. He has been hearing inklings that this company <br />may bc currently looking for a site to consolidate and relocate. He suggested the EDA contact <br />Al liant Tech Systems about relocating in Ramsey. They could be presented with a vision of <br />Ramscy, what will be happening with transportation, and the amenities the City has to offer. <br /> <br />The consensus of the EDA was to direct staff to proceed with contacting Alliant Tech Systems <br />regarding a possible relocation in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Member Strommen indicated the EDA has been invited to have a booth at the Environmental <br />l~;xpo on the first Saturday in May. The connection with the EDA would be the tree nursery <br />businesses in the City. She indicated she will be present at the Expo. She suggested a listing of <br />tree nursery businesses in the City could be supplied to visitors. <br /> <br />Member 1 ,eTourneau volunteered to represent the EDA at the Environmental Expo. <br /> <br />Thc consensus o1' the EDA was to participate in the Environmental Expo, represented by <br />Members Strom~nen and LeTourneau.
