Community I)evclopment Director Trudgeon stated they have not looked at this yet.

Mr. Augst explained on the map the layout of Traprock neighborhood.

Commissioner Van Scoy wondered how many accesses they have for Traprock. For a safety
standpoint, would there be a need to open this up.

A resident stated there are two accesses into the Traprock development.

(;ommissioner Brauer wondered if they could leave Traprock closed because the residents want it
to remain closed and Mr. Peterson is agreeable to keeping it closed.

City I,;nginecr Jankowski stated it was indicated from the beginning that this would be a
temporary cul-de-sac. He stated this is a decision the City Council has to be made and has been
an issue with other developments also. He stated it is a City Code that stub streets are intended
to go through.

Commissioner's two concerns with the sketch plan were density transitioning and the access to
Traprock. These items will need to be looked at as part of the platting process.

Commissioner Van Scoy asked if the road to the south will remain stubbed.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated it will and they want to explore all
possibilities of expansion in the future.

Commissioner Van Scoy wondered if the 161st going east continuing east will be another stub
street.

Community Development Director Trudgeon stated this is another one that will be left.

Colnmissioner Brauer stated regarding the traffic, if the two southerly roads will be stubbed, the
traffic down there will go to Variolite.

Corn m unity Development Director Trudgeon indicated this was correct.

Con]missioner Van Scoy thought that not much traffic would go through Traprock due to all the
accesses onto Variolitc.

Vice Chairperson Jolmson thought if this were to go forward, his recommendation would be to
leave Traprock closed.

('x~mm issioner Brauer agreed.

Planning Commission/March 3, 2005
