He stated his hope was to get planning direction
as to how the Commission would like to see this organized.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood pointed out he had provided an Executive Summary, and
also a background of what Recreational Districts are. He stated there is also an introduction to
thc municipal parks in the area, and then pictures and narratives that would lead them through the
in (Ii vi du al parks.

Commissioner Ostrum stated that this is exactly the background information and what he had
been looking for in order to make intelligent decisions on priorities and what needs to be done.
He suggested that this could be part of their web site.

Chair Johns stated that this was one of the biggest districts because of the Mississippi River and
all oF the wayside rests and the county park, as well as their own little parks. She stated that they
would provide feedback after they had thoroughly read the packet. She asked whether the
Parks/Utilities Supervisor could provide one of these per month.

Commissioner Olds stated he liked the format, and he suggested it could be used as a template
Vor thc rest of the districts.

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated he hoped that the table of contents was in general
order tbr these, and there should be other bullets included as well, such as significant County
road and street projects proposed. He stated if there are things highly likely to occur, it should be
referenced because there may be a trail alongside it or it may relate to a street connection.

Commissioner Ostrum stated they could bring their comments back next month and decide what
needed to be refined at that time.

Chair Johns stated she would like to see another district analyzed for the meeting next month.
She stated that the information contained in the analysis could have a number of potential
audiences.

Commissioner Ostrum stated they could finish this one at their next meeting, and he thought they
shou Id hold off on doing another one until this one was completed.

Parks/Uti lities Supervisor Riverblood stated he would appreciate getting feedback prior to the
next meeting.

There xvas a discussion regarding having seasonal pictures posted on the web site along with this
material.

COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT

Commissioner Olds stated the trail was recently paved in Sunfish Village, and black dirt had
been dumped on the trail and it was all muddy.

Park and Recreation Commission/November 18, 2004
Page 5 of 6
