Volunteering/Stewardship <br />[Master naturalist program] [volunteer opportunities lacking in <br />the city] [value volunteers can add to a city] [recreation can be <br />that avenue to create opportunities, but only with a developed <br />system, people will volunteer where they have fun, and see that <br />their time is of impact] [In 2017, Minnesota Master Naturalist <br />hosted events at 12 sites around the state, where 227 volunteers <br />invested over a thousand hours valued at $27,376.80! --from MN <br />Nat website] <br />Local Businesses/partners <br />[Through partnerships, we can reach more people, provide more <br />services, and maintain higher quality facilities than we could do <br />on our own. Strategies 1. Build relationships with organizations <br />and community leaders that help us better reach our target <br />markets. • Develop long-lasting, trusting relationships with new <br />immigrant and racial and ethnic minority group organizations <br />and community leaders. Devote ongoing staff resources to <br />these interactions. • Invest in relationship -building with schools, <br />recreation centers, and youth groups in order to reach youth and <br />young adults.
