Council Update <br /> <br />Impacts on City Services: <br /> <br />On Tuesday, April 7, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz extended the state’s Stay at Home Executive <br />Order through May 4. At its April 14 meeting, the Ramsey City Council will consider a 60-day n <br />extension to its Local State of Emergency Declaration. The Governor’s Executive Order has the <br />following impacts on City services: <br /> <br /> <br />Administration: <br /> City staff will not be booking new meetings until May 4. Existing <br /> <br /> <br />meetings that were booked now through May 4 have been canceled. <br />Community Development: <br /> Inspections will continue as normal. Business and Peddlers <br /> <br /> <br />licenses have been temporarily suspended. Visit www.cityoframsey.com for more <br />information regarding the effects on businesses in the community. <br />Engineering: <br /> Technical staff will continue field work, including inspections necessary, to <br /> <br /> <br />support essential construction projects. Project design and bidding will continue. <br />Fire: <br /> No change in emergency response. There will be no routine fire inspections, no burn <br /> <br /> <br />permits or other permits being issued. <br />Parks: <br /> Park buildings, including public restrooms, closed until May 4. Port-a-pottys are <br /> <br /> <br />available for public use. All park playgrounds remain open, however, the use of public play <br />equipment is discouraged. Garbage containers will be monitored and emptied as needed. <br />Minimal mowing of parks will be done as necessary when needed. <br />Police: <br /> These times are challenging and we know a lot of folks are nervous and uncertain. <br /> <br /> <br />Our Police Department wants everyone to know we are providing the same level of service <br />(sometimes via alternative means) as before this pandemic. Our police lobby is closed but <br />we continue to receive requests for service through 911 dispatch, phone, mail, email, and <br />document drop box outside City Hall. If you need us, we will be there and will get through <br />this together. Our department is grateful for the support we receive from the community. <br />Public Works: <br /> The department is doing regular street repair and maintenance and will <br /> <br /> <br />respond to any weather related emergencies (storm damage, trees in road, snow removal), <br />road and utility repairs and replace critical traffic signs. Street sweeping and hydrant <br />flushing is being done. Mowing season starts in early May, so we will begin preparing for <br />that next week. With the weather starting to warm up, the department will begin installing <br />irrigation meters in the parks as well. <br /> <br />Spring Load Restrictions. <br /> Spring Load Restrictions in the Metro Frost Zones will end Monday, <br />April 13, 2020 at 12:01 am. A recent Governor’s order lifted the limit for septic system pumping <br />trucks.
